Monkey Tour

Where murky waterways weave through dense mangrove forests that border the coastline, wildlife in Costa Rica thrives. Primarily monkeys, in addition to crocodiles and various forms of otherworldly lizards and crabs were spotted on our boat tour, thanks to our eagle eyed guide. (A true local, he grew up on one of the islands we passed by.) But it was more than just the animal sightings out there, it was the way the sunlight seeped through the trees, enveloping the tropical landscape in a warm glow. It was the low hum of our cozy ten seat motor boat as it sped through the canals. This place embodies something magical for sure. I think the monkeys would agree.

Café Cluny | West Village

A cozy French American bistro in the West Village, Cafe Cluny is the perfect mix of romantic and laid back. It sits with heavy striped awnings on the cobblestone lined corner of 824 W 12th Street, dimly lit and ever popular, bustling with a vibrant crowd. The Linguini Carbonara ($25) with bacon, peas and a poached egg was exquisite. Also pictured is the All Natural NY Strip Steak Frites ($24) with garlic butter. A side of the tangy balsamic Roasted Brussels Sprouts ($9) are a must. With an overwhelming number of places to dine out in New York City, visiting Café Cluny was a really good call.

The Brooklyn Bridge

On a cheerful Sunday, December 2nd where wispy cirrus clouds formed high above a light blue sky, I walked The Brooklyn Bridge for the first time. Venturing over the architecturally fascinating suspension bridge into Manhattan, beneath the intricate web of cables with sun drenched views spanning the East River and coming upon tiny details like the master lock traditions and small graffiti messages, I took it all in with each passing step. This was bucket list big.
