Nashville, Tennessee

This time around the girls and I headed to Nashville, Tennessee! Famously known as Music City, Nashville is the heart and soul of country music. Wearing our cowboy boots was a must! During the days we toured the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Belle Meade Plantation and took a day trip to Lynchburg, a small country town which is home to the Jack Daniels Distillery. We also visited the Grand Ole Opry (even though we didn't see a show.)

We got our fill of southern, family style home cooking at lunchtime (meat and threes, sweet tea, pies!) - Miss Mary Bobo's in Lynchburg was or favorite meal and we also loved Arnold's Country Kitchen. We were impressed with our dinners at Husk and Rolf and Daughters, each offering their unique and refined take on local cuisine in upscale and trendy atmospheres. We felt so welcome in this town, the folks here are incredibly friendly, hospitable, just super nice. (Totally living up to the Southern Hospitality trademark.)

Nashville is home to superb craft cocktail bars and speakeasys like The Patterson House (the Bacon Old Fashioned!) and Holland House Bar & Refuge. We discovered some gems in midtown - dives like Red Door SaloonLosers, and then right next door to it, Winners, were a lot of fun. A fancier spot in that area Music City Tippler, was hopping. We checked out the local stomping grounds in East Nashville at The 5 Spot. And we always made it to the rowdy, honkey-tonk, live music filled Broadway Street. Not to be missed on Broadway - The StageTootsies Orchid Lounge and Roberts Western World

I'm grateful to have experienced another city with these ladies.
Friends, it's a good one to put on your bucket list.

(More of the food and restaurants, soon.)
