Camel Ride | Tangier

what can i say besides this was the most fun. our 3 camels were sisters - Sabrina, Susanna + Samsa. They were really kind animals who liked to smile and ham it up for the camera.

Tangier - cute and funny camel sisters at the foot of the Atlantic Ocean.

Blue City | Morocco

The winding blue streets of the Chefchaouen medina constantly delight with local shops and endearing scenes. At every turn another picture perfect creamy blue coated home or a fresh teal lacquered shop door. A periwinkle step here, a cornflower blue wall there. Everyone is friendly, kind and hospitable; on the side of plenty relaxed and no one bugs you to buy anything. There was one local shop owner who had a blast adorning us with our scarf headdresses. Way to make the sale!

It feels like we discovered somewhere distinct and off the radar. Our time was limited to one night but I'd recommend two if your itinerary allows. We were not able to fit in a popular hike to an abandoned mosque for city views. Vancii Hotels rooftop and dining at Hamsa afforded pretty vistas for our short visit. On day two our driver Madhi arrived just after 10am, we had a camel ride in Tangier planned and then a ferry to Tarifa, Spain to catch!

Chefchaouen | Morocco

Chefchaouen is an iconic city in Northern Morocco where the entire town is painted in every imaginable vibrant thoughtful delightful shade of blue blue BLUE. One of the most mesmerizing, wanderlust enforcing places I've traveled; Blue City was the first stop on Tricia, Erin and I's transatlantic trip. A big to-do Moms adventure if you will. We landed that morning in Casablanca and 5 hours later arrived to the blue pearl nestled among the Rif Mountains. On our journey as the Moroccan landscape and small Muslim countryside towns sped by while the jetlag subsided, I was in an old recognized state of bliss. The thrill of somewhere new!

Stay here: Vancii Hotel
for a casual and authentic meal: Cafe Restaurant Sofia (pictured: spiced pumpkin drizzled with honey, chicken tangine, vegetable egg rolls)
for a great meal with very pretty rooftop views: Hamsa

Chefchaouen is primarily Muslim/Islamic and therefore a DRY TOWN. (NO ALCOHOL IS SERVED AT ANY ESTABLISHMENTS) - with a couple exceptions.
Drink here: Bar Oum Rabie, Hotel Parador
