Life & LiberTea | RumBa

The honey bees at the Intercontinental Hotel rooftop apiary have been busy. Take advantage of the fruits of their labor by sipping on a Life & LiberTea ($12) at RumBa, the hotels rum and champagne cocktail lounge. RumBa looks to pay homage to our city's history, once upon a time Rum trade was an immensely important industry in Colonial Massachusetts. The rum industries old roots were also embraced by an Ipswich distillery launched just last year, Privateer Rum. Speaking of tea and history - the Fort Point Channel views look out to the very spot where the Boston Tea Party took place in 1773.

It is no secret that tea with lemon and honey have always been a classic combination. The addition of Privateer Silver Rum creates something refreshing, comforting and boozy all at once. The smooth and clean tasting small batch rum is steeped in Earl Grey Tea giving it a distinctive flare. When shaken with lemon and honey syrup you get a well balanced cocktail, one where each ingredient is prominent. Its got a perfect sip-a-bility factor and after two you'll be buzzin' like those bees.
