ICELAND

This country is achingly beautiful. Being here, especially on the first day, I felt consumed by emotions I still can't put into words. Iceland is dramatic, mighty, intense and on a whole new (for me) level of travel. It was late September and we drove the entire Ring Road. We landed in Keflavik when it was still dark with modest flashes of the aurora as we exited the airport. In our 4WD Suzuki we headed east towards a piercing sunrise as it calmly unfolded over the horizon of jagged mountains, lava fields and the Atlantic Ocean. My heart sped up with every turn.....

A couple notes: The map photo is a rough guide of our route around ring road and not inclusive of all stops and various offshoots. These photos are a compilation, an overflow if you will. So much more detail and travel highlights will be shared very soon!

  2. I LOVED Iceland, and your post is only making me want to go back more. I still can't believe it's a mere 4ish-hour flight from Boston, either. It seems worlds away!

    1. Nothing fancy, I use a Canon Rebel T3 with a standard 18-55 mm lens. I've had it for about 5 years.
