New Eats @ TD Garden

During Celtic's preseason we were invited to take a tour of the TD Garden's sleek and shiny new digs, and to watch the game in a club level suite while sampling the latest concession offerings.

In a complete overhaul of levels 4 and 7, an impressive space comes to life with a design that emphasizes the cities industrial transit history and celebrates The Garden's sports legacy. Black and white subway tiled concession stands with nods to local fare team with sprawling bars serving craft beer on draft. Sports paraphernalia lines the walls to create an atmosphere that is fresh and exciting, as well as nostalgic.

What's also impressive is the reinvented line up of game day food and drinks. From the Tostitos or Doritos Top n Go Walking Taco, to Legal Seafood's famous lobster rolls and fresh baked chips, to a decadent, ultra rich mac n cheese topped with fiery Cheetos crumbles....and so much more! (I was skeptical of the bright red toppings, but those Cheetos are damn delicious.) There's even a stand serving gelato - the pumpkin spice was a real treat.

Myopia Polo x The King's Ginger

 On behalf of The King’s Ginger I was invited this summer to attend a Sunday afternoon Polo match at Myopia Polo Club located in South Hamilton, Massachusetts. These pristine grounds hold the distinction of being the oldest active polo club in America. Tailgating on the grounds is an absolute breeze as select spots are left open for non-members. Match go-ers can back their car right up to the sidelines where everyone sets up their table and chairs and goes all out with a fancy picnic! This was my first time attending a Polo Match and we had a blast.

The King's Ginger is deliciously spicy and strong (82 proof) made through the maceration of ginger root with the addition of lemon oil - a recipe that was formulated by London's Berry Bros. & Rudd in 1903 for King Edward VI. [Berry Bros. & Rudd began supplying British Royal Family with spirits and wine in the 16th century and continue to do so today.] The higher proof lends a tingling ginger forward flavor that makes it well suited for use in cocktails, even one as simple as combining King's Ginger Liqueur and champagne. It was perfect for sipping on a hot afternoon, cheering along on the sidelines of an exciting Polo match!

It is one of the loveliest spring seasons that I can remember. Hope the view is just as pretty from wherever you are.

celtics game fun.

Last Sunday at 12 pm the Boston Celtics played the Memphis Grizzlys. Boston won! I wish I could say the same for another New England sports team that played later that afternoon. All mention of the big Patriots loss aside, I had a blast watching the Celtics play earlier that day. A scene that runs on energy and adrenaline, being among the game day fanfare where many a hip-hip dance routines meet jumbotron madness is just plain fun. There is something mesmerizing about the players style, they way they command the court and weave seamlessly around their competition. Have you been to a Celtics Game this season? It was my first time attending one in awhile. I wish I went more often!
