We finally climbed the Bunker Hill Monument. All 294 steps.
I love living immersed in all this history. The Bunker Hill Monument is actually located on Breed's Hill, the site of the first major battle of the American Revolution in 1775. It is here where most of the misnamed fighting in the Battle of Bunker Hill actually took place. It is free to climb! And if you've never visited, it is always a good one for the bucket list.
I have been wanting to go there! Thanks for the reminder, I may try to go this weekend!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great day to do this! Your photos are wonderful. I tried to climb once last summer and the monument was closed for renovation! I definitely want to do it though
ReplyDeletethat is a lot of steps!! definitely something i should do :) the question is, where to fuel for such a climb? haha
ReplyDeleteI remember climbing that many years ago! Looks like you're really enjoying your new neighborhood :)
ReplyDeleteAw fun! I didn't realize you could climb it. Going to have to talk Jeff into it!
ReplyDeleteive been there but never climed it- def something i need to do!
ReplyDeleteAwesome fun!
ReplyDeleteSomething about climbing steps that literally makes me nauseous...not sure what it is? Kudos to you for doing this!
ReplyDeleteI should add this to my training! :)
ReplyDeleteFunny that you wrote about John Harvards followed by the bunker hill monument, because last time I went to John Harvards, I ended up drunkenly lost in boston and found my way when I stumbled into the monument... I know they are far away from each other, don't ask.
ReplyDeleteAwesome photos! I wish I'd spent more time in Charlestown. I did get to enjoy the monument once though
