Magnificent Florence

Hello. It's me. I am back posting photos of our trip to Italy. We were in Florence from September 13 - 16th of 2019.

The Tuscan capital of the Renaissance delights with the richness of its cultural and artistic heritage. From Brunelleschi's Il Duomo, Michelangelo’s David at the Galleria dell ’Accademia, Botticelli’s Birth of Venus and Caravaggio’s exquisite works at the world-famous Uffizi Gallery, I have never been more impressed with artwork and architecture.

However, we didn't initially fall in love with Florence the way we did with Rome. We had a car at this point and dropping off our belongings on a tiny busy street + having no idea where to park left us flustered. (We had a garage close by mapped out but alas it was closed due to construction.) Our apartment did not (initially) come with the pack-n-play as advertised. Florence was somehow more crowded and hotter than Rome. The first restaurant we got all situated at would not to serve us food. (I think it was a timing thing with the next reservations and a language barrier to boot.) Our vibe was off and it took us a second to readjust and fit in. Naturally our feelings changed and we adapted to the pace and the vibe of the city in no time. The beauty of travel, right?!

We might slightly prefer Rome but I can tell you we love Florence a whole lot, too!
