Cheeky Monkey Brewery

 There are SO MANY NEW SPOTS in Boston. Have there always been this many new restaurants? Or is it because I am so busy planning a wedding and this upcoming winters ski trips (come on snow!!) that I can't keep up?

In new happenings on Lansdowne street, may I introduce Cheeky Monkey Brewery meets a revamped Lucky Strike Social. A shiny new energetic brew pub offering house and guest beers, plus shuffleboard, billiards, ping pong and an eclectic, entertaining, (why yes an incredibly cheeky!) array of monkey decor and light-bulb sinage is now joined with an energetic, super fun Lucky Strike bar and arcade. After a ping pong game and sampling the globally inspired fare downstairs, we headed up to play arcade games for hours on end while sipping Double Play IPA and Monkey Business Amber. What a great addition to the Fenway Neighborhood!

The Social Register

I had a chance to visit Southies newest hot spot The Social Register before it opened to the public. The latest venture from Aristocrat Hospitality (The Brahmin) sprawls on the ground floor of the Aloft Hotel across from Lawn on D. There's a historical themed gallery wall, an eclectic collection of pillows decorating caramel leather booths, and a mesmerizing lacquered penny bar! We sampled a variety of cocktails and enjoyed passed appetizers. 

Hot + Dirty | Kettle One, olive + pepperoncini juice, blue cheese olives

Lamb Lollipops | honey glazed, walnut crust, port wine demi glaze 

The Perfect Storm | Captain Morgan, muddled blueberries, lemon juice, ginger beer

Buffalo Chicken Flatbread | bacon, tomato, garden pepper, blue cheese

Whipple Watermelon | house vodka muddled with watermelon and simple syrup

Edamame Dumplings | soy-sake glaze, spicy sesame drizzle
